Lufthansa is set to unveil its latest redesign of the Allegris Business Class, featuring seven distinct walled seat types, each with individual heating and some with mini-bars. The design, created in collaboration with design agency Pearson Lloyd, aims to cater to a wider range of modern travellers, reflecting the evolving demographic of business class passengers. From families and colleagues flying together to creatives and freelancers taking advantage of their ability to work nomadically, the new design offers something for everyone.
The new business class cabins will include some guests’ own suite with sliding doors, providing an extended personal space of up to 27-inch monitors, use of their own wardrobe, and personal minibar. Business class guests travelling together can connect two suites. Passengers will also be able to choose between six additional walled off seat options, each featuring at least a two-metre-long bed and high definition 4K screens. The layout enables passengers to work in a private and isolated environment or relax and socialise with colleagues in a different seat configuration. Travellers can also adjust the temperature and control lighting and entertainment from a tablet-sized control unit.
The revamped Allegris Business Class cabins are part of Lufthansa’s €2.5 billion programme of product and service improvements, taking place until 2025. The new design offers a dynamic space created by the layout, catering to the individual and varied needs of passengers flying day to day. According to Luke Pearson, director of Pearson Lloyd, “It delivers choice beyond simply opting to use a feature or not.” Lufthansa expects the new design to appeal to a wider range of modern travellers and is calling the result “a blueprint for the future of all business travel.”
