Hamad International Airport (DOH) has continued to maintain its strong performance throughout the third quarter of 2023, with a significant 26.84% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2022. This achievement reflects a consistent trend of growth, with a 44.5% increase in Q1 and a 24% increase in Q2.

During Q3, Hamad International Airport welcomed a total of 12,706,475 travelers, with 4,305,391 in July, 4,398,427 in August, and 4,002,657 in September. Additionally, the airport’s skies remained bustling with activity, recording 67,285 aircraft movements during this quarter, marking a 24.48% increase compared to the previous year. The breakdown of aircraft movements showed 22,598 in July, 22,909 in August, and 21,778 in September.

The cargo operations at Hamad International Airport also experienced significant growth during the third quarter, with a 3.38% increase, resulting in a total of 590,725 tons of freight handled. These figures underscore the airport’s vital role in the global logistics chain. In July, the airport managed 194,268 tons of freight, followed by 195,773 in August and 200,683 in September.

The airport’s success in this quarter can be attributed to a range of prominent destinations, including well-established hubs such as Heathrow, Bangkok, Cairo, Colombo, and Manila. Additionally, the airport witnessed substantial growth in destinations like Guangzhou and Hangzhou in China, Gatwick in the UK, Al Qassem in Saudi Arabia, and Denpasar Bali in Indonesia, contributing to its overall performance.
