Accor has recently introduced a new brand to its portfolio, named the Handwritten Collection. This global midscale brand will comprise of 12 properties, with 7 set to open by May 2023. The Handwritten Collection expands Accor’s footprint in the midscale hotel sector and is expected to add more than 11,500 guest rooms to the company’s portfolio over the next several months. The company aims to grow the portfolio to more than 250 hotels by 2030. The new hotels will maintain their unique character, with 80% of the debut portfolio being conversion projects. Some of the Handwritten Collection hotels set to open this year include the Hotel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental in Shanghai, Le Saint Gervais Hotel & Spa in Saint Gervais, France, Wonil Hotel Perth in Perth, Australia and more.

The new brand will offer travelers a unique, personalised experience with its focus on maintaining the individuality of each property. According to Accor chief marketing officer of premium, midscale, economy brands, Alex Schellenberger, the Handwritten Collection adds to Accor’s offering in the ‘collection brands’ segment and will give guests the chance to explore different destinations while still having the comfort of staying in a familiar brand. The new brand will also offer a range of services and amenities such as restaurants, bars, spas, and fitness centers. The Handwritten Collection will be a great addition to Accor’s portfolio of 43 brands, providing travelers with even more options to choose from.
